While Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional and Enterprise editions have it, Windows 7 Home Premium, Home Basic and Starter Editions do not include the Group Policy Editor.
Microsoft has updated and made available as a download, the complete Group Policy Settings Reference Guide for Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
The idea behind this is to prevent spamming of the taskbar (looking at you, Chrome). Thankfully – we don’t have to completely reinvent the wheel to pin programs to the taskbar in Windows 10.
We can simply substitute our pinning script with a small pinning executable that is able to bypass the verb restriction. By default, it will pin most of Office 2013 to the taskbar.
But if you don’t want to upgrade, you can still take advantage of this great tool if you know ow to access it.
