Hi all, I seem to be having the same issue but I don't quite follow the trouble with the above post. Can you explain the T/S a little more or maybe point me to another post that may have already covered it? It's quite common that people create the data source and bind this source to the Grid View in their Page_Load() method.

I am having trouble 'saving' the changes the user makes when editing text ina field on a gridview.

When the user clicks EDIT then makes a change or two, then UPDATE, the changes are lost.

rowupdating event is-56rowupdating event is-30

event handler, which means it will get called for every row.

It examines the command object and, if it is the same referenced object, it essentially rebuilds the object, thereby destroying your command text changes.

the problem is still saving the edits done by the user to the gridview in edit mode.

Below is my ASP, and then my C# code (notes to myself and all, ha ha) ASPX: using System; using System.

If the grid contains templated columns or is bound to some of the fields from the data source, the Values and Old Values must be updated to add those missing values.
